My most popular video so far had been on using Google lens for researching resale items on Poshmark. So today I have another way to use Google lens to help you list faster using super relevant keywords. I show you how I use the lens to find keywords, stock photos, and pricing for an item I will list in my Poshmark closet. This method is great for items you don’t know a thing about and can be applied to items you do know a little about too. When using the lens I recommend: 1. Use a photograph of your whole item with clean solid color margins around it for optimal results. You can take a live photo in the moment too. 2. You will not always get your exact item right away. Look for similar styles in different colors or patterns. You can glean keywords from those images too. 3. Sometimes the lens just can’t find what you need. It’s just a highly calibrated algorithm after all. Don’t be discouraged. Try a different photo or one of a similar item. Remember, it’s information your after first. Style names, print names, brand names... You will see I test out my keywords in a basic browser search to verify those are the ones that will hit on my item accurately. (Not always a necessary step.) It also leads me to stock photos and past solds for my item. I then go into Poshmark and check recent solds to see what current market pricing expectations are. That’s because a browser doesn’t show me WHEN items sold for chronologically, and pricing could have changed drastically since an item first hits the market. As you practice you can cut down on your time. My video is 8mins but once you get it 1-3 mins might be all you need per item or to at least see if the lens is the right tool to help you. One tip I didn’t talk about in the video is that you can also snap a photo using the lens when you’re in a store to quickly identify a potential item and see its retail or past solds if anyone has listed it. I still make mistakes with bags and tries was one of them! In this video I talk about a Coach bag purchased online and how I knew it was fake when I got it in my hands. You will also see that it’s very obvious that the bag is a good fake once you look at the creed, style numbers, & puller. Lots of people are scared to sell their bags for fear of being fakes, but in my experience it’s not terribly difficult to tell yourself. You can opt to have it “authenticated” by a service but I discourage this since those certificates don’t mean anything to the design houses that might pursue legal actions. My largest in size rehabbed bag to date! (& maybe the most satisfying.) This video goes over all the product sand details of how I took this bag from dead to yes! It was my first time replacing hardware on a bag as well as using deglazer and resolene. You can easily find replacement hardware pieces for sale on the internet for cheap, so don’t let a missing hardware piece stop you from fixing & flipping! You can also strip and sell those parts yourself, when a bag is too far gone. Check out my previous before/after post on this bag for a cost break down. If you can get a beat up bag cheap enough, go for it and see how far you can restore it. This easy rehab of a coated canvas bag from Marc Jacobs is a little different from my usual leather fixes! I am excited to share this one with you all because I wanted you to see how fabric bags might also be fixed up for resale. Canvas bags exists at every price point and it’s a great material that can easily be cleaned up. This bag was stained on the inside with wear to the handles and corners. No one wanted her at the bins! Big mistake since the comps are around $100. If you are willing to put in a little work, the return is amazing. Literally trash into money! If I compressed all the time I spent fixing this bag and listing it, I would guess it took less than 2hrs (drying out time not included, but I also didn’t do any work while that was happening!) In this video I also talk a little about my listing technique for getting top dollar for my handbag flips. (maybe a more in depth video in the future?)
