When I found some Gucci shopping bags in some curbside trash last week, I excitedly shared it in my stories and lots of you were shocked to see comps for $50. Why would some spend $20, $30, or even $50 on empty paper bags & boxes?
Here are a few reasons why you should pull these from the bins, trash, or the free box at a yard sale. People collect these for gallery walls & crafts. They commemorate their trip to the store for their gift or splurge. The more expensive and exclusive the brand, the more you can get for it.
I resell luxury brand’s dust bags all the time. Some people need replacements to store their items in.
From Burberry to Tory Burch. I have made over $100 selling just LV packaging on Poshmark. I have sold Celine dust bags for over $30; all free to me or from the bins.
Personally, I think people like to store and gift secondhand luxury in original packaging & shopping bags. If buyers save money by buying secondhand luxury, they are willing to spring a few more dollars for the coordinating packaging to make it feel like they got it from a store.
